2020 Quarterly Screenings

Come indoors for Bernal Heights Outdoor Cinema’s first,
quarterly, free “Face-to-Face with the Filmmaker” screening of the 2020 season.

WAKING DREAM weaves together the stories of six undocumented young people as they sit in limbo between deportation and a path to citizenship. DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) has provided nearly 800,000 undocumented young people a chance to pursue the “American Dream.” After DACA is rescinded, WAKING DREAM follows the unfolding fate of these six individuals.

DIRECTOR

Theo Rigby

Theo Rigby ​is a director, cinematographer, and interactive storyteller based out of San Francisco. Theo screened his film Marathon, and Sin Pais at BHOC in the past. He has been creating stories focusing on the immigrant experience in the U.S. for over the last decade and is the founder of iNation Media. Theo recently finished Waking Dream, a short documentary series about young undocumented people with DACA permits that was funded by ITVS and distributed on the IndieLens Storycast Youtube channel. He is currently in production on Sanctuary Rising, a feature documentary about the faith-based Sanctuary movement.
