How are films and videos selected?

Entries are previewed and selected by a separate Submissions & Selection Committee and are chosen based on the following considerations:

  • production values
  • themes
  • intended audience
  • length
  • association with Bernal (not a requirement for selection)

The Committee reviews approximately 75 submissions over a five-week period. Filmmakers are notified by early August if their film has been chosen as a title to be shown in the late summer Outdoor Cinema season.
